And I generally have no problem with it...except that it kind of defeats the purpose of showing off if you do the same thing after every catch...whether it be "meaningless" or a SB clinching reception.

I don't mind a celebration...but make it about the goal...the team...the 1st down...not all about me ****...Mr. Ironman ****....I guess he felt he had to find something because Ward does...points to a 1st down...but that is the difference IMO...Ward's isn't about him...it's about the team...a goal...an accomplishment for the team.

And he doesn't do it after every first down.

I've seen holmes do it during a no-huddle, hurry-up offense before....like...SERIOUSLY dude? You need to show off? How about you get lined back up?

KICKOFF COVERAGE, KICKOFF COVERAGE, KICKOFF COVERAGE!!!!!!!! This is two weeks in a row that instead of icing a game, our Kickoff Team gives up big score on a return. We cannot afford to spot everybody 7 on ST's!

All in all, it was a big win for the boys!!! Not pretty, but I'll take it anyday.
I agree,,,,, and at first I was really ****ed with Reed's lame attempt (and still am to a degree) to slow the runner....but after watching a replay of the run back...I have 2 players I want to add to my ****ed list....2 rookies...that ****ed up and over ran the returner...after the Redd muff.....Ratliff and Johnson...both ran right by him...should have contained him after Reed's wiff.

I agree. Watching Wallace and Holmes celebrate a little in a close game sure as hell beats watching Limas Sweed drop the ball during key moments.

Now, if Holmes or Wallace are celebrating while we are down 28 points and they have been dropping the ball all afternoon, then it would irk me.

I hate showboating and I don't like flips into the endzone(b/c you can get hurt or fumble doing it) but I have seen worse than 'Tones muscle flex- and the flip? .....well they have been flipping and somersaulting into the endzone for decades so it isn't anything new.

But as to things that ****ed me off, Ben trying to force it in to Holmes with Mewelde wide open and ended up being 4th down in what would have been a first down. For me what was even worse than not throwing to MM, Ben could have run for the 1st down, and we needed to make a first down bad at the time.

Mendenhall fumbling the ball. Wasn't happy, but it was the effort I liked, had he not fumbled, everyone would have been gloating about the effort.

PI on Miller, that was BS. Right call was made, just not consistently in all games and down and distance situations.

Ward dropping a catch that would have given us 1st down instead forcing us to punt. Didn't mind it a bit, he has made many a catch and scarificed for the team, he is entitled to drop a tough one knowing he was gonna get nailed,....come on it ain't he is Sweed

Holmes and his showboating not only how he was carrying the ball, but his superman, muscle man or whatever it was he was doing flexing his muscles after every catch. I agree he needs to get over that ****.
At the time Ward dropped the ball it ****ed me off. I love Ward, but when I don't give a pass to Ben when without him we don't get 2 SB. I don't give Ward a pass either, that is a ball he should have caught.

As to Holmes showboating most times I don't mind it but for one I think his version of showboating looks stupid and for another when you do it every time you make a catch it's annoying. IMO your getting paid to catch the **** ball. Save it for when you actually put points on the board imo.

Wallace though needs to pay more attention to Hines than Holmes imo though I really don't want to see him become a "look at me player." I love Holmes and defended him when we drafted him when many were running him down. But imo he is a "look at me guy."

Doesn't he get paid for that too?

Yeah, but imo it doesn't look as bad when you've scored. It's just me I don't have a problem with showboating when you've made a tough catch or you score. But I've always had a problem with showboating when you make a routine catch or carry the ball for a few yards. I know everyone loved Bus as I did, but he annoyed me at times as well when he'd get up celebrating after getting 2 yards.

This year though he's gotten paid for not catching a lot of balls as well.

I wasn't trying to be an ***, sorry. I don't like the showing his muscles thing either. I yelled at him for that cause you know, he can hear me through the TV

Not only is his showboating getting old, but telling Wallace to do something so he can get on Sportscenter??? Now that's bull****. I loved Fitzgerald when he was at Pitt. Score a touchdown and hand the ball to the ref. That's class.
