It’s no secret that UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and top contender Josh Koscheck are coaching opposite each other on Season 12 of “The Ultimate Fighter” and will then throwdown on Dec. 11 to headline UFC 124.

Despite rumors to the contrary, however, the bout will take place in Montreal instead of Las Vegas. UFC president Dana White confirmed the location to AOL Fanhouse’s Ariel Helwani on Monday.

It will mark the second time this year that the promotion will run an event at the Bell Centre. It also gives St-Pierre a distinct advantage heading into the bout, fighting Koscheck in his own backyard.

Koscheck is no stranger to Montreal, having fought Paul Daley there earlier this year at UFC 113. But despite the infamous Daley sucker punch after the fight, Koscheck has not endeared himself to fans there.

Growing up just outside of Pittsburgh, Koscheck took a shot at Montreal’s hometown hockey team, egging on fans as the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Canadiens earlier in the night.

“Don’t worry, Pittsburgh Penguins are going to kick your *** next week, baby!” Koscheck yelled to the Montreal crowd. “And then I’m going to beat St-Pierre, so you guys are going to lose twice, how bout that? Yeah, that’s right Montreal.”

Rumor has it that Koscheck may have made a direct run from the arena to the airport immediately following the post-fight press conference that night.

The Canadiens got even, ousting the Penguins from the NHL playoffs, but they’re not likely to forgive and forget when Koscheck steps in the Octagon across from St-Pierre, especially following three months of build-up on “The Ultimate Fighter.”
