it will be tough for him to win ROY without doing more of what he did--showboating--on Sunday. Steeler rookies dont get enough publicity otherwise. And Yes...im serious.
Ben didn't showboat his rookie year.

    Just sayin'.

He was a QB of a team that went 15-1...and was a 1st round pick...

He wasn't a 3rd rounder who was the 3rd best QB on the team when there were other more elite QBs who played similarly.

    (Thus the situation with Wallace)

No,you're right. He was only the 2nd best QB at the time.

While Mike Wallace is high on the list of WR and his stats do jump out at you...and specifically his big play and big-time catches...however...

There are players who were drafted in the first round and have a lot of hype on them who have also performed well. Knowshon Moreno has performed admirably (3.8 YPC)...

Percy Harvin has been explosive in many areas for Minnesota...

Hakeem Nicks has only 63 less yards and more TDs.

What I am saying is...that alot of these awards are on HYPE...the first round picks have more HYPE than Wallace and he has to find a way to get on TV and get the attention of people so he can overcome the "not first round pick" bias.

The season is still way too young.Makes no sense proclaiming someone the ROY when there is that much time left....................kinda like it makes no sense to do a mid-season mock draft.

Again, his situation was completely different.

You are failing to understand the point of both, though.

The point of the above is that even if the season was over right now it would be tough for him to win based on precedent and his draft round.

I will leave the other for the appropriate forum.

Boldin had over 100 receptions, 1300 yards, and 8 TDs...for a terrible team...where he CLEARLY was the best player by far. He was 3rd in the league in receptions, 3rd in yards, and 13th in TDs...it was a no brainer.

Can't compare because the season isn't over yet.

Wallace is on pace for 800-900 yards.

And my initial response was to the suggestion that if he keeps it up at this pace he'd be ROY...

Thought you said that it would be tough for him to win it without showboating???

If Wallace pull a stunt like that during the super bowl years of the 1970's someone like Joe Greene would be on him very fast. Just like Mean joe told Woodson on Rod's 1st TD., "we don't do that here". I hope someone explains the same notion to Wallace. He can celebrate on the sidelines but not in the end zone and especially not like that risking an injury -- just ridiculously crazy.
