PITTSBURGH _ Troy Polamalu says his knee feels so good that itís unlikely heíll wear a brace on it Sunday when the Steelers play the Falcons.

Polamalu missed 11 games last year when he sprained his knee on two different occasions. Throughout the preseason, though, Polamalu hasnít experienced any setbacks. Not once was he forced to miss a practice or preseason game due to any soreness or discomfort in his knee.

Although a brace could provide extra support for his knee, Polamalu said his movement was restricted when he tried one last year.

ďI havenít worn one all preseason,Ē he said. ďIíve just been taping my knee, and thatís done a good job. I doubt that I would wear a brace unless something serious happens throughout the rest of the week.Ē

Polamalu did say that he canít wait to play a real game for the first time since last Nov. 15 when he hurt his knee for a second time in a loss to Cincinnati. Polamalu first hurt his knee in the season opener against Tennessee.

ďIt is exciting in that respect,Ē he said.

let us just hope and pray that our wonderful coaches don't have TP in on the FG or or PAT plays -- gee if they had remembered to implement this strategy last year against the titans on opening day we might be singing a different song now. At least he is not on the cover of madden this year -- that is CJ from titans right?

Troy is one of my biggest concerns on defense this year. If he gets hurt yet again I'll be pretty concerned about how much longer he'll be able to play in the NFL.

I agree. He's getting real close to that 30 year old mark.

I remember going to a game vs. San Diego his rookie season and hearing him being booed hard. Since then, he's turned into one of the biggest playmakers in the NFL. I would hope for nothing more than 3-4 more years of Pro Bowl quality play from him and no injuries.
