Default Some of the crazy crap I just heard on ESPN

I just saw Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen on ESPN discussing Dixon's future if the Steelers win today. Schefter said that even if the Steelers win, Ben is the still the QB. No ****? The fact that they're even discussing this is unbelievable. Ben still gets no respect, it's amazing. If this the Pats, Colts, etc. and Brady, Manning or any elite QB was injured they would no be having this discussion, plain and simple.

I heard some buzzing about Dixon taking Ben's job if he did well during his starts and I wrote it off to armchair QB wind, **** and excitement bull****.

Two extremes here - first being those who thought Dixon would be a stud. I never expected it though I hoped he would have played better than he did, but he still needs reps. Ain't his time just yet. Someday. Second being the negative karma on Ben. Ben's a pariah lately. Doesn't make him a bad QB - that kind of thinking is ****ing stupid. The guy is still a top-3 QB regardless of his issues.

Which is why I have a hard time getting swept up in all the bull**** that ebbs and flows with the NFL.

That's true, and it was really dumb but Matt Cassell actually played well in a number of games that year.

I just have to remember to not watch ESPN, I usually don't and this is what happens when I do.

When I saw the topic "Dixon's future" on the screen I thought they were going to talk about how he could make maybe play himself into a decent positon, FA-wise.

Our QB situation, after Ben, needs revamped. Dixon blows, Batch is old, Leftwich is fragile. Should of drafted a QB this year to groom as there were some good options in the middle of the draft. For Dixon to look as ****ty as he has in his 3rd year in this offense is pretty ****ty. I would of liked to have drafted Skelton this draft.

Yep, the Steelers have completely dropped the ball when it's come to the backup QB situation. Amazingly it hasn't cost the team any wins this year, but that's because the Steelers have the best defense in the NFL through two games so far.

I think with Ben out the defense has decided to put this team on their shoulders like in 2008. Seven turnovers and so little points even for backup QB's. Not having Starks in there doesn't help either and when do they expect Starks to return ?

Dixon just doesn't have the playing experience to handle this job but, what can he do about that ? I also don't believe he has the arm to be an affective NFL quarterback on any stage. Keep Batch and give Dixon his walking papers. Ben, Lefty and Batch will be enough. Next season during the draft find a teachable QB with an accurate arm and bring him along like we always have with our third stringers. These scrambling QB's are not worth a penny when it comes down to them needing to lead the team with some passes.
