Default Game thoughts from a Yinzer

    1) Troy is the D. The D lives and dies with him. That is all.

    2) Anyone still convinced Dixon is ready to start? I said it before the season started, without Ben and Lefty, Batch is our best option at winning. Nothing has changed since. Tomlin's decision making abilities still in question IMO. He's out of free passes at this point.

    3) O-line is dropping like flies. Still playing decent though which tells you a lot about the line - good and bad.

    4) Anyone besides me getting tired of Flo's false starts yet?

    5) That about sums it up for this thread. I'm pretty drunk right now, probably should have waited until tomorrow morning to post this but **** it, game will be stale at that point - but one final note, 2-0 without Ben. Who could ask for more?

Knocking the coach goes beyond these two games IMO.

No, Tomlin would have still been the guy who inherited a great team and cruised along with it.

I've never made any bones about my thoughts on Tomlin. I'm not rooting against the guy, don't get me wrong but he hasn't shown that he's effective in leading the team or being a good decision maker. His decisions have cost us games - one against Cincy that I can remember. Starting Dixon at this stage is a mistake. The way I figure, if it's clear to me it should be clear to anyone. Batch has the experience, poise and skills to win games. Dixon is still a project guy and if you want to argue that, look at his performance and not the W/L column.

Dixon should be taking Troy and his O-line out to Ruth's Chris every night this week.

I agree, I understand the argument of being conservative with a backup QB and a good defense but Tomlin is really taking that to new heights!

Again, I'm loving it that we won today, but it's a little crazy that the Titans somehow had the ball at the end of the game with a chance to tie the game after the Steelers had a 7-1 turnover advantage. The game should've been 31-11 at that point or something similar.

True dat.... I'll take a win however ugly the end of the game is... All that matters is that we got the "W"... But it still bodes badly for the future IMO... I like what I saw from the defense, but the offense scared the **** outta me.... 2 more weeks till Ben returns, and I'll beat the drum/dead horse that he'll be rusty in his first game back... Luckily, it will be against the Browns, but that is still no guarantee... We're up 1 game on the rest of the division, which is a wonderful thing considering our situation... But we will still play Baltimore 2 weeks from now....

Whatever else is said about Tomlin, one thing that is certain: He could have dumped Airens after last season and chose not to. Continued pi*s poor play calling is Airens AND his responsibility...IMHO.

Can he though? Have the Rooney's given him that kind of latitude at this point?

Or is BA a protected species since he's got Ben's favor?

Those are the real questions IMO.

If not, then shame on the Rooneys for not having a coach they believe in, and shame on Tomlin for staying in a situation that he has no control.

... I personally do not believe this to be the case, but who knows?... If so, it's a very sad/****ed-up situation IMO.
