Seriously? ESPN2 and the NFL NETWORK are this hard up for programming? .. . Here's thje story in 2 seconds. Steelers PR guy or announcer at the game that likes the song started playing it and it caught on with fans. Apply this to "Don't stop believing" by Journey and any jock rock song out there

For laughs you could still watch it and see how they try to find ways to make a legit and interestng story out of it with a pile of bull**** but in all honesty it's nothing more than MTV saturating their channel with a specific song by an artist that someone chose to pimp. Play it enough and people will latch on to it. How do you think Limp Bizkit managed to sell more than 3 albums? I mean, ****ing Cotton Eyed Joe is a standard at sporting events!!

Personally, I think Droppin' Plates by Disturbed or Nature of the Beast by Twisted Sister would be a better fit then Renegade.

    Slow day at NFL films?

I always thought "Nazareth - Hair of the Dog" would be a good song to play at Steelers games. I haven't heard too many teams use it.

Yeah, it was pretty cool. I thought they were gonna try to stretch it out over a half hour. But, for a little 10 min. story it worked

Alot of people rip on Renegade, but I'll tell ya what, when you're at the stadium, and they start playing it,it really gets you pumped, plus I'm a guy that grew up in the "70's" and ,while I'm sure I'll take some **** for this,I'll admit, I like Styx.

Man, Kip, a little nasty there. The story was very entertaining. Tommy Shaw told how he wrote the song. The Steeler PR guy heard it on the radio(Classic rock station) while he was driving to work and thought it would be a good song for the stadium. The players (or someone on the bench) sometimes call the 'entertainmment' guy and request the song to be played.

Lighten up. The show was well worth the 10-15 minutes to watch.
