Who said that was a terrible trade?

How about it was a terrible draft pick to begin with by Ray Shero?

Oh yeah. I always liked trading with Waddell Add in Armstrong too who I always felt was ntohing mroe than your run of the mill 3rd liner. I wasn't a big fan of giving up a 1st round pick (I never am) but I was all for the gamble of the Hossa trade and would do it again..

Esposito was there for a lot of teams to pick and he fell down the draft charts like someone descending off a cliff. We should've let him continue to fall. After Cherpanov was picked (RIP) and I kept hoping he'd fall to us since he fell due to the whole NHL/Russia thing not questionable talent and coattail riding like Esposito, I really wanted us to pick David Perron that year. Natural winger.

I agree with Kip. Let's talk about why we drafted a guy who 29 other GMs knew was overrated.

As far as the trade, the criticism was mostly for giving up too much for a rent-a-player. The fact that Esposito didn't work out didn't change that. At the time of the the trade, if we knew we couldn't sign Hossa beyond that year, we gave up too much. Hence the bad trade criticism.

I really didn't think much of any of the players we lost in that deal. But the criticism was valid, IMO.

07 was a pretty weak draft year. Few good players but still weak imo.
ďItís a game of emotion, itís a game of hard work.
Itís a game of passion, Kovalchuk, what he did the other day Ė thereís not one guy who was close to doing something. Maybe Maxime Talbot at the end with one second left. Hes about 5ft8 pfft"

Sometimes happens when your drafting at the bottom, which is usually the goal when the season starts.

POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS SHOULD BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON!
