Even during a bye week, Ben Roethlisberger was sacked.

The Elias Sports Bureau has officially changed a play in Sunday's 27-17 victory against the Minnesota Vikings in which Roethlisberger was originally credited with a run for minus-1 yard.

Instead, the play was a ruled a sack by Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams. So, while the Steelers pick up an extra rushing yard (107) against the Vikings, Roethlisberger's total now shows he was sacked four times, not three.

He has been sacked 20 times this season.

Didn't Ben have 47 sacks last year? So 3 next game leaves us at 23 sacks in 8 games which is right on par for 47 sacks this year.

What I find strange is I thought the offensive line was actually doing better this year then last year. Maybe it's all the pump fakes waiting to go long that is killing Ben .

Default Big Ben sacked even during a bye week

Big Ben sacked even during a bye week

PITTSBURGH (AP)—Ben Roethlisberger can get sacked even during an off week.

A scoring change has given the Minnesota Vikings an additional sack of Roethlisberger during Pittsburgh’s 27-17 victory on Sunday. Roethlisberger was sacked four times, giving him 20 for the season.

A play in which Roethlisberger was initially given a 1-yard loss on a run has been changed to a sack by Minnesota’s Kevin Williams.

Roethlisberger is on pace to be sacked 46 times, as many times as he was dropped last season.

Roethlisberger has been sacked a league-high 212 times since beginning his career in 2004, 12 times more during that period than the Rams’ Marc Bulger. No other quarterback has been sacked more than 174 times.

If they are awarding a sack on the busted handoff, that's ****ed up, he was a runner, not passing.

I think it sucks to credit them with another sack if it was the busted handoff play, Ben was a runner, not thinking about passing....dumb way to analyze a sack.
