The Steelers are the NFL's top villain.

This may come as a shock to some of you. It has actually been a long time coming. Here are five reasons the Steelers are Darth Vader in 2010.

    1. The Steelers will top many a power rankings list this week. Discussion at Dawgs by Nature often refers to the Steelers as "the bully." Every team in the league looks at the Steelers matchup as a likely loss. Fear leads to hate.

    2. The Steelers have had unparalleled success, and are making a run for a ridiculous 7th title. No other team has enjoyed such success. Fans of less prestigious teams feel that it should be their team's chance at a ring, instead of adding excessive hardware to one team.

    3. Ben Roethlisberger is widely regarded as a rapist or sexual assaulter. Not a popular group of people. Our team's recent success and hopes for the near future rest on his arm. A team needs a franchise quarterback to pick apart postseason defenses, and Big Ben is instrumental to a 2010 Super Bowl win.

    4. James Harrison's hits on Sunday struck a sore note with NFL fans. I bounced around the internet today and the non-Steelers consensus seems to be that he deserves suspension for intentional headhunting. Harrison is also the pride of this generation of the Steel Curtain, setting the tone with his violent and supremely effective play against run and pass.

    5. Steelers Nation is huge, has pockets across the country, and we are the happiest fans in the country every Sunday morning because no team scares us. They wish they were happy. Their teams lose to crappy teams.

Not to forget that we fly under the radar for most of the season in spite of #1,2 & 5 above.

We've always had a "headhunter" or perceived dirty player(s) at LB.

    Personally I love it.

More rings than the Cowboys, Colts or Patriots, more hated than the Raiders. Life is good!

OK but I'm taking the weekend off from posting to consider retirement.

What a pussified world we live when good, tough, hard hitting football is looked down on like this. What really ****es me off is these pencil pushing geeks in the media (I don't mean former players) who are all bent out of shape by a couple of hits. As Jaws pointed out last night on PTI, helmet to helmet and other serious from the neck up collisions happen all the time all over the field they just aren't caught on camera like these were. That's what it all adds up to. These ****ing **** holes like Rick Reilly, Peter King, Mike Florio, etc.............. are just a bunch of pencil pushing ****ing pussies who probably sucked their mom's tit until they were 12. While the rest of us were out playing tackle football in the yard they were probably to scared to participate so they stayed in the house and followed mom around or played with their stuffed animals.

The bottom line is the only hit from this weekend that should have been fined was the Merriweather hit. The rest were just good hard football. If you don't like it go watch golf.

Provided they don't hit the ball to hard for your taste.

    Exactly.

I think that every preseason, the overall majority of pundits ride the junk of the Ravens and Bengals and pass us over. Maybe it's because that's too easy of a pick to take us so they take someone else to be 'edgy'. I don't know.

Don't forget the annual "Suck-off-the-Chargers-a-thon". It hasn't materialised yet this year, due to the Chargers imitating my leaf mulcher: It both suck and blows mightily.

Usually, it seems around week 8 that they're considered contenders while we still go unnoticed by everyone except the team and fans we go up against in any given week.

We are the Hannibal Lecter of the NFL - hated, feared and liable to eat the opposition.

Well, most of the time when I watch movies I root for the villain, so why should this be any different for me! The bad guys are hopefully on their way to a 7th title, so we can all be hated even more by everybody! I wouldn't want it any other way!

We are bad guys because we are usually in the running or on top. We don't claim to be Americas team even though the NFL offerd Art Rooney Sr. that title prior to offering it to the Cowboys. Rooney turned it down.
The Steelers have always won by being tough and not by cheating. I believe this will be the first time The Cheats will be at Heinz field since spygate. I hope our Steeler fans let them have it !

My two favorite teams? The Pittsburgh Steelers and ANYBODY WHO PLAYS THE DALLAS COWBOYS.

POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS SHOULD BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON!
