10 years playing in that stadium and that surface is a disgrace.

On KDKA's Cochran Sports Show last night one of the panelist mentioned that the Rooney family is very sensitive to criticism of the field.
"The brotherhood that the Steelers have, their way of doing business, their way of playing football, spans decades. Their way of building teams that do not blink and players that do not shrink, well, there is nothing come-lately about it."

That's just weird or strange. Granted we all knew that since The Rooney's are always defending the field and defending using real grass but it's strange that despite how much the defend it and love it, they can't find a way to make it any better than it is.

someone pointed out in the GDT that Pitt hadn't played at Heinz since the end of October, The weather in Pittsburgh has actually been nice since then. The precip has been very little and temps have been decent. Why the field has been bad the past couple of weeks (mainly the Pats game since i dont remember complaints yesterday) is just mind boggling to say the least.

WPIAL games are coming up, so this field is only going to get worse and I heard they wanted to replace the sod BEFORE the WPIAL games. hope they plan on replacing that sod since it'll be in crappy condition

I'm pretty sure that they always do it after those games, or at least after the Pitt game on Saturday.

You would think the Rooneys would want a field their players are not being injured upon.

thats the thing. the rooneys believe that natural grass softens the fall and such compared to field turf/fake grass. The question is how many injuries have actually been heinz field turf related?

Turf is supposed to be repaired on this Sunday. Steelers have 3 more regular season home games. If they win the division, they will have at least one more home game. However, the winter clasiic will mess up the so called repaired field so it may need repaired again. Someone is a dumb@ss keeping that field in shape

Lincoln Financial Field, Browns Stadium, Lambeau, Soldier Field... all grass fields in similar climates that work out just fine.

It should work at Heinz Field, too.
    Yet, it doesn't.

It's becoming an annual Thanksgiving tradition.
