    Default AAA Rule 5

In the Triple-A portion of the Rule 5 draft, the Pirates took outfielder Brad Chalk from the San Diego Padres and catcher Travis Scott from the Los Angeles Angels.

Chalk, 24, was the Padres' second-round pick in 2007. A left-handed hitter, he batted .313 in 27 games at Triple-A and .214 in 65 games at Double-A last season. Over four minor league seasons, Chalk has a .273 average with two homers and 60 stolen bases (33 of which came at Class A in 2009).

Scott, 25, was a second-round pick in 2007. Injuries limited him to 37 games last season at High-A and Double-A, when he hit .254.
Unless I missed this on another thread, I see we did pick up a couple of AAA players. Players or fillers?

POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS SHOULD BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON!

99.9% of all players picked up in the AAA and AA rule 5 phase are organizational fillers. These guys are no different. The Pirate organization is thin in OF'ers and catchers in the upper minors.
