    Default Sweed on trade block

Kevin Curtis: Report: Kevin Curtis, Sweed on trade block
    Kevin Curtis - WR - PHI - Oct. 12 - 5:55 pm et

According to Mike Lombardi of the National Football Post, the Eagles and Steelers will make Kevin Curtis and Limas Sweed available for trade this week.

The trade deadline is October 20. Lombardi also mentions Chiefs ILB Derrick Johnson as a player that potentially is available. A Curtis trade would move first-round pick Jeremy Maclin into the Eagles' starting lineup full time, but the veteran's knee injury and contract will make him difficult to move. Oct. 12 - 5:55 pm et

    Exactly.

What the hell would we get for him?

Mediocre receivers are a dime a dozen, and lame-*** hasn't even proven to be mediocre.

Give Sweed a chance to be worthy of a trade before hanging him out to dry! Maybe we can trade him to the Flint Tropics for a new washing machine

All we gotta do is convince Al Davis that Limas is fast...

Why do I have a feeling Sweed is going to be here for a long time?

In all seriousness, Braylon Edwards fetched a Stuckey, a local special teams dude, a 3rd and a 5th pick (1 catch as a Jet 1 TD so far)...What could we possibly get from him at this point????

Yes, the answer is NOTHING! Trading him at this point makes no sense.

What if they feel he will never amount to anything. What if he is still dropping every ball next year? He will be worth even less. At least now it at least appears as though he has upside. 2nd round pick, size, speed, can get open etc. One problem, he can't catch. The Steelers don't care at this point. They have the 3 they want plus a solid backup. Maybe we can get a lineman for him.

I like your wishful thinking Beez, but we also have a lot of "worthless" lineman that wont sniff the field...how does another help. I say we let the leash out a bit and give him a 2nd...ERRRRRRRR.....a 4th chance!

I doubt the Steelers will dump Sweed until they are absolutely SURE that he can't be redeemed. Remember Duce?

One thing is for sure, if there is any truth to the rumor - that HAS to be confidence shattering for the guy.

This might **** him up for good.

Well if they don't like the offers, they can keep him right?

I think we could use some depth on either line. Half of our current O-line where "wothless" linemen from last year. They don't seem so worthless now. I think we had more depth than we thought but now I know we don't have depth.

Yea.... If he didn't need a sports psychologist before, he does now.

.... I think we're gonna be stuck with him for the season. Besides, even admitting he's not worth the place where we drafted him, I would think they would want SOME value for him..... They are just "fishing" right now, and I doubt any other team will take the bait.
