Yea.... If he didn't need a sports psychologist before, he does now.

.... I think we're gonna be stuck with him for the season. Besides, even admitting he's not worth the place where we drafted him, I would think they would want SOME value for him..... They are just "fishing" right now, and I doubt any other team will take the bait.
What's the sense of trying to trade him? He's been paid for, what's his salary after bonuses now? It doesn't make sense. If he showed some promise, then maybe. Maybe - but at this point we bought him. Might as well try to develop him and decide afterward weather or not to trade or keep him.

Unless they think he's a total bust and maybe trying to salvage a 6th for him.

Well, I don't want to use the "B" word just yet..... But I'm almost starting to think that way.... Hopefully it is something he can just "work out of" and get straight.... Let's see.

Yeah, me neither - but it looks like that train is heading down that track.

Hey - have a safe flight to Atlanta.

Well if they don't like the offers, they can keep him right?

I think we could use some depth on either line. Half of our current O-line where "wothless" linemen from last year. They don't seem so worthless now. I think we had more depth than we thought but now I know we don't have depth.
Good point, I must admit when Essex went down (temporarily) I was a bit concerned with our depth up front! However, I'll take Sweed's (underachieving) upside, over an underachieving lineman, or a 7th rd draft pick.

    Vive Sweed!!!

Like I have said in the past. You can't teach getting open. If we fix the drops, rather then giving up on this kid, we could be looking at 4 solid wide recievers. That is unheard of in the NFL. I personally want to see him stay in Pittsburgh. He just needs to take an unbelievable shot after catching a ball. That should all but fix the dropsies.

I'm diggin this theory...let Sweed get hit, let Sweed get HIT HARD, and hold onto the ball!!! He had some impressive catches in preseason, he needs to just get popped live!

    Vive Sweed!

Seriously. I think he just needs to be hit and hit hard while making a catch. I think it will boost his confidence big time.

If he makes any more drops, I wouldn't mind seeing him get hit and hit hard immediately after he drops it. I'm sure Ray Ray "Killer" Lewis would be happy to oblige.

I have been big on the give him a chance crew. I agree the only thing he is doing wrong is not catching the ball. That is pretty important tho. Putting him on the block is no small thing. Sounds as if they have given up on him. We really don't need him at this point but my guess is they are seeking something more than wanting to dump Sweed. I don't see what the harm would be to just keep him on the bench. Maybe he gets an opportunity due to injury at some point this season.

The only problem with that is he can't even catch when no one is around him.Hell,I think he'd have a hard time catching the Swine flu at this point.

Sweed has screwed up so many times, he's now on my underdog list. I'm pulling for the guy. Sweed gets one pass thrown to him (behind him) and not another pass...they need to go at him and get him some serious looks to see what he's all about. Brownies are up next that might be a good game to get him going.

I'm not sure anyone could have caught that pass thrown to Sweed in the Lions game. It was behind him and low. If the coaches are blaming that drop on Sweed then shame on them. I agree with you. Our mantra going into the Browns game should be to grab a sizeable lead, bring in Sweed and just keep throwing at this kid.

It was behind and low, but not that much. Hines Ward catches that ball 9 out of 10 times I'll bet. Sweed is on a very short leash IMHO.
