Default Was Tomlin running up the score?

Ben stayed in to long.No running the clock out in the 2nd half.I could see keeping Wallace in to get his 100yd.Mendenhall and Ben should not have played in the 2nd half.Just me being picky?41-9

I got a bit of a fright when Pouncey was slow to get up. Tomlin pulled the plug right after that.

First of all running the score up is perfectly acceptable in the pro's in fact it is one of the tie breakers. Of course we didn't need tie breakers since we won but I think that is the point. They got enough of a lead to cover their *** in case they wanted to try a comeback on the second team defense. I do agree I thought they should have been pulled a little earlier but no one got hurt so it's all good in retrospect.

I don't know if we ran up the score or not. Todays teams can come back so fast at times and especially with our current problem of allowing teams to hang around or smoke us it the fourth I feel, Tomlin had to put some comfort zone points on the board. I might checkout the Browns board and read what they think about it.
NBot that I care but, just seeing how the losers live life.

Anyway, I think Charlie Batch should be the second string QB because Lefty looked too, too......... just not good.

The big point total was needed. This gives the offense more confidence going into the playoffs.

I think it was more of a case (like last week) of getting the offense in rhythm going into the playoffs.

Of course the offense probably should've been doing this earlier in the year but whatever, let's just see what happens in the playoffs.

If he was trying to run up the score he would have kept Ben and the starters in through the 4th quarter. You know, what Belichick likes to do when the cheats are up by 40.

I just went to the Cleveland Plain Dealer news paper forum and I couldn't find anything that the Browns fans thought we ran up the score. They just think they're that bad of a team.

There is a string titled, " I can't wait until the Patriots crush the Steelers in the playoffs. "

Well, they have to live through another team and not their own.

It seemed difficult for the first stringers not to score today. I can almost imagine the lip we'd have got from the Clowns fans if it had been close or if they'd managed to draw even.

There was no running up of the score, just doing what was supposed to be done to get players rested.

I agree. Today was about taking care of business, which is just what the Steelers did. Well Done!!!

    I agree 100%.

Tomlin: "This is what it's like to dominate, boys, tastes good, doesn't it?!".
    Steelers: "Yes SIR!".
