The Sunday prior to Christmas the Steelers found out they made the playoffs. After the Thursday night game against the Panthers my neighbor and I decided to grow "playoff beards", after seeing Keisel. However it was decide to start Sunday, the day after Christmas. Haven't shaved yet, not even trim, and hope not to until the day after the Super Bowl.

Another interesting fact. As some may have heard my story before about my brother-in-law that lives in the Burgh and works for the NFL, once ran the replay equipment just for Steeler homes games, now travels all over for the league every Sunday.

His crew of replay people and officials did very well this season, each crew receives a weekly score on the job they did. Each of the past 2 Mondays the leagues sends out the assignments for playoff games. He has yet to get one.

He is hoping not to get one this week in hopes of getting the SB, thus he would get a ring. He hopes it will be a Steeler SB ring. Several years ago he came close to getting the SB but instead they gave the game to a crew who had someone retiring, even those his crew had a better score for the season, he ended up with the AFCCG.

He has been to every current NFL stadium...but Dallas.

Unfortunately he found out today....he will be doing the NFC Championship. I personally think that once the Steelers got by the Ravens the league doesn't want to risk a guy from Pittsburgh in the booth so they made the decision to make sure that would not happen.

Keisel has been the unsung hero for sometime now, I'm glad he got noticed enough for the pro bowl. He has become almost like the matching bookend to Smith.

I tell you if Kiesel can last two or three more years and we draft his replacement soon and to be conditioned well enough to start along with finding a stud to replace Hampton someday..our defensive line will remain a rock.

That beard is soo bad ***. My goatee right now is a little on the long side ad its starting to bother me. i've had beards last a couple of months and they start to hurt after a while from the weight pulling and the itchiness... I can only imagine what his feels like.

It's the coolest beard though. Beards and football go together
