Default Hochuli ref for Steeler/Jets game

Let the flags fly. A new playoff record will probably be set for penalties and yardage.

We'll win despite the refs AND Goodell and his goon squad.

That sucks. There sure are a lot of horrible officiating crews in the NFL.

On the bright side at least we're not fans of the Packers, who have Terry McAuley's crew doing their game. In Week 3, McAuley threw 18 flags(!) on the Packers which played a HUGE role in them losing a close one to the Bears. I remember that game pretty well (it was on MNF) because of the horrible officiating. That game was a classic case of the refs playing too big of a role in the outcome of a game. That's not good for the game.

You don't say, JG. I can't imagine that it has anything to do with the reality that these doinks are weekend warriors who have the judgment abilities of Otis from the Andy Griffith Show!

While opinion may vary about ref crews, the crews working the weekend games are said to have the best overall grades for the season, thus rewarded with calling these games. Is a game always called the way fans would like them???? no..can't happen because there are 2 teams so more often then not fans from one team will always feel refs were biased...we have been on both sides of that fence. Hopefully the refs won't even have any reason to be considered as part of the outcome of the games.

the grading system IMO is bull****. Hoculli and his crew got high enough grades before to work the playoffs DESPITE making some calls that got scrutinized everywhere for costing teams games especially the Denver/San Diego screw up. Even despite one of the most admitted ref screw ups, he was awarded a high profile playoff game.

I'm cringing at the though of ed Hochuli refereeing this game and making some terrible call(s) that affect the outcome

    Ed Hochuli Suspended

    By Trey Bradley

According to the Daily News, the NFL has suspended veteran official Ed Hochuli for using HGH, a sustance the league has banned but cannot test for.

"If you watched Ed's game this weekend, it was pretty obvious that he's even bigger this year than he was a year ago," Commisioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. "There's no way he could have naturally added that much muscle mass at his age."

Records obtained from a pharmacy located in Florida indicate several orders for HGH were placed by an individual identified as "Ad Hoc." The mailing address on those shipments belongs to Hochuli's law firm in Phoenix.

Hochuli, 55, was not immediately available for comment. However, a spokesman for league officials said that Hochuli has been warned repeatedly that his biceps look bigger than Deebo's in high definition.

Players representative DeMaurice Smith added, "I've been receiving complaints from players for years. When a referee makes them feel inadequate by flexing in front of a national audience, the players have no choice but to use performance enhancing drugs to level the playing field."

Satire from, believe or not Bleacher Report.

Not to play devil's advocate, but I read on many different message boards and every team's fans think that calls go against their team.

I know a call has to go one way or the other but these guys straight up **** the bed. I hope the teams decide this game themselves that's all I ask.
