    Default income taxes

The boss lady tells me we have all the necessary documents to prepare our income taxes. It is scarier than usual this year. I fill mine out online and have been doing so for 15 years. How about you?

    I gotta use a CPA.

Too many itemized deductions and having to factor in corporate earnings, deprecation, etc for me to handle.

I take mine to a CPA. The cost is worth the headache and she can get me more in deductions and such than i can on my own.

I was a tax preparer for Liberty Tax 2 seasons ago.....they have the same software that H&R Block has...
(The founder of Liberty is the same founder from H&r)......Its ok it you want to pay their high fees, but I found Taxslayer.com to be about the same software and I am very comfortable with it.....You can start the program, stop, ammend things later....change anything...before you have to pay....and it was cheap, so it was the best solution for me.......I am self employed and claim alot of deductions too........Schedules A, C, etc

Yeah, I do mine on the computer too. Less of a headache and less costlier than going to H&R Block. I remember one year, the guy at H&R Block wanted to list my capital gains as taxable but wouldn't list my capital losses as write offs. I'm like, "what the **** is up with you ?".

I've used TurboTax for many years. 2 years ago I had a payment from my parents annuity that was unfortunately taxable. My deductions are pretty standard, mortgage interest, RE taxes, etc. and Turbo tax calculated I owed $30k in taxes. Horse**** I said, so I went to a tax preparer. Cost me $250 and his calculations were no different.

For $50 a year, it carries over all the information from the previous years and I can do my kids taxes too.

Same here. Already got my refund deposited. The second my wife and I get our W2's, I go online and get it over with. I do the federal return for free through Taxact and do the state return separate on PA's website, so I don't have to pay anything.
