Default Paul Hornug Says Packers Will Win Superbowl

Hornung going with Packers in the Super Bowl
By WILL GRAVES AP Sports Writer

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP)—Pro Football Hall of Famer Paul Hornung is siding with some old friends in the Super Bowl.

The former Green Bay Packers running back says his old team will beat the Pittsburgh Steelers by a field goal in Arlington, Texas, on Feb. 6.

Hornung says the Packers could be on the verge of a dynasty similar to the one he helped the team build in the 1960s, when Green Bay won five NFL titles, including the first two Super Bowls.

The 75-year-old Hornung made his prediction Tuesday night before handing out the inaugural Paul Hornung Award to Stanford fullback and linebacker Owen Marecic. The award honors the most versatile player in college football.

Hornung said it was important to pay tribute to a dying breed. He won the 1956 Heisman Trophy while playing quarterback at Notre Dame, leading the Irish in passing, running and scoring.

Big ****ing surprise here. Why the hell did Yahoo waste their time even posting this? Go ask Joe Greene who wins the Super Bowl

I did get a good laugh out of his dynasty comment. You can tell the guy is old. His mind is certaintly not there. Probably said the same thing back in 1996.

Um the Pack fans omit one BIG detail. They won their way through the NFC. Which has sucked for years.

The AFC are the big boys of the NFL.

He may be a HOF'er, but dude is making this pick on straight heart/bias... He's yesterday's (at best) news, and has ABSOLUTELY NO clue about today's NFL!

I appreciate NFL history, but honestly...this guy is a "nobody" in terms of past NFL running backs! He's lucky to be in the HOF!

Does he hold any records?... Or did his tired *** just ride out a good team that played ****ty competition?

Didn't that guy play in the day with leather helmets ? What a freakin stretch for a legend to pick his own team. I wouldn't be surprised he didn't also claim their QB will also be elected president of the USA.

I wouldn't expect the chap to say anything else. I bet he could still hit and maim Roger Goodell...

Sorry, folks, I'm hardcore old school. A dynasty is THREE CHAMPIONSHIPS IN A ROW...that's it. That means there has actually NEVER been a dynasty in the NFL....not the Patriots, not the Steelers now, not the 70's Steelers.
