    Pitt releases non-conference football schedule
    Wednesday, January 26, 2011
    By Paul Zeise, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Pitt will play eight home football games this season, including five against teams that advanced to bowl games this past season, the school announced.

The Panthers also finalized the dates for their non-conference games and announced that the annual Blue-Gold spring game will be on April 16th at Heinz Field.

Pitt will play host to Buffalo (Sept. 3rd), Maine (Sept. 10th), Notre Dame (Sept. 24th) and Utah (Oct. 15th) and will play at Iowa (Sept. 17th).

The Big East schedule will be announced next month but Pitt's home conference games will be against Cincinnati, Connecticut, Syracuse and South Florida and the Panthers will play at Louisville, Rutgers and West Virginia.

    Buffalo and Maine are gimmees.

Those should be very good tests to see where Pitt is. I suspect they could give ND and Utah a contest. I think Iowa mops the floor with them.
