Staal to Play Tonight vs. NY Islanders
    Wednesday, 02.02.2011 / 1:05 PM / Features

Jordan Staal will be in the lineup tonight when the Penguins meet the New York Islanders at CONSOL Energy Center.

The NHL reviewed his match penalty from Tuesday's 4-3 shootout win over the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden and has determined there will be no further action taken.

I thought they were referring to last night's game. Notice that Staal didn't serve the penalty. He wasn't in the rest of the game if I remember.

They did but mainly because Ben Eager had gotten 4 games recently for something very similar when he pummled Colby Armstrong's beak

They mustve reviewed it, so that it was a soft left hook in defense of a cheap shot by prust to TFK and an obvious dive/acting job by Prust

He was ejected. 5 minutes and out

we skated the rest of the game with only 10 forwards since Aaron Asham left the game just a little earlier

I hope everyone had a chance to watch Pens/Rangers last night.

What a superior Penguin team effort and Staal played liked a Captain would/should.

I was surprised when he decked that guy and while he may have cost his team his services, he stepped up big time in my eyes.

(I wonder what, if anything, his brother said to Jordan after the game?)

Just had to add a link to the New York Times story on last night's game and the comments of Ranger brother Staal.

Did they issue an apology for falling for Prust's charade?

The only action that should be taken is that Prust should be suspended for diving.
The only player in the NHL more overpaid than MAF is Jordan Staal
